Remote support is often a good fit
- Software will not install or open.
- Email or browser configuration.
- Printer setup and common connectivity issues.
- Wi-Fi/device settings.
- New computer setup.
- Security software or VPN configuration.
- General Windows/macOS settings and troubleshooting.
A repair shop / onsite service is often better
- Computer does not power on.
- Broken display, port, keyboard or casing.
- Drive or component failure.
- Liquid damage.
- Parts replacement.
- Manufacturer warranty repair.
- Physical network cabling or onsite infrastructure work.
Convenience is not the only difference
When a remotely solvable problem is taken to a shop, the customer may need to disconnect the device, transport it, explain the issue, leave it and return later. Remote support can remove those steps. The device stays with the customer and the support can happen while the customer is present.
When keeping the computer at home matters
A personal computer can contain years of documents, photographs, saved sessions and private information. Remote support does not eliminate privacy risk, but it can allow the customer to keep physical possession of the device and observe the session rather than leaving the entire machine elsewhere.
Pricing should reflect the service model
In-home service includes travel. Retail service includes premises and device-handling logistics. Remote support can avoid some of those costs for eligible issues. BACKON’s goal is not to promise the lowest price; it is to make the service and price understandable before the customer proceeds.
